COMELEC Declared 32 Official Senate Candidates for May 2013 Election

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has announced recently 32 qualified candidates for Senator who will be participating the Philippine Senate election next year, 2013.

The official list is dominated by bets from Liberal Party (LP) and United Nationalist Alliance (UNA). The poll body said it includes 5 incumbent senators, 1 incumbent member of the house of representatives, 4 ex-lawmakers, and a Cabinet official.

The Commission declared 52 out of 84 aspirants (62%) as nuisance candidates.
