The poll body (COMELEC) has released the lists of City of Mandaluyong local candidates for the coming 2013 local elections.

The City of Mandaluyong local elections will be held in Mandaluyong City on May 13, 2013 within the Philippine general election. Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, two District representatives, and the councilors, six in each of the city’s two legislative districts.

Neptali Medina Gonzales, Jr. is seeking a third-term post as a congressman of the Lone District of the City Mandaluyong. He has been a house member during the 10th, 11th, 12th and 14th Congress, respectively. As of 2007, in the 15th Congress he has been the House Majority Floor Leader. Gonzales will be challenged by three other candidates: independent candidates Gerard Castillo and Renato Panem, and Frank Reyes (Alliance for the Common Good).

For mayoral post for the City of Mandaluyong, it is race of three candidates including incumbent mayor Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr., more popularly known as Benhur Abalos, Danny De Guzman (Lakas), and independent candidate Florencio Solomon.

Edward Bartolome (Liberal Party) and independent candidate Doki Pe comprise the list of candidates for vice-mayoral seat.
