Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in Caloocan City: the mayor, vice mayor, the Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the cityā€™s two legislative districts, on May 9, 2016.

Caloocan, the third most populous city in the Philippines, has a land area of 55.80 square kilometers. It has a population of 1,489,040 people, according to the 2010 census.

The city is divided into two separate areas. Southern Caloocan City lies directly north of the Manila and is bounded by Malabon and Valenzuela to the north and west, Navotas to the west, and Quezon City to the east. Northern Caloocan City is the northernmost territory of Metro Manila which most residents call it Novaliches, Caloocan City; it lies east of Valenzuela, north of Quezon City, and south of San Jose del Monte, Meycauayan and Marilao in the province of Bulacan. Caloocanā€™s northern part is much larger than its southern half.

Guidelines for Verification

  1. The Certified List of Candidates (List), as posted, is merely an initial List and subject to editing.
  2. All candidates are enjoined to check their names, specifically their Names to Appear on the Official Ballot, in the List.
  3. Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Regional Election Director, Provincial Election Supervisor, or Election Officer concerned in writing until 21 January 2016. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction.
  4. The Law Department shall determine whether or not the request for correction is allowed.
  5. The List is subject to the outcome of the various cases/issues pending before the Commission.
