Region 1 (Ilocos Region) Official Candidates for 2013 Election

This is a directory of official candidates for governor, vice governor, sangguniang panlalawigan (board member), congressman, mayor, vice mayor, and sangguniang bayan (councilor) positions in Region I (Ilocos Region) for the May 2013 elections.

Region I is located in the northwest of Luzon and is composed of 4 provinces, 9 cities, 116 municipalities, 3,265 barangays and 12 congressional districts. As of 2010, its population reached a total of 4,748,372 residents.

San Fernando City in La Union is the regional center of Region I (Ilocos Region). With a total land area of 13,055 sq. km (5,041 sq mi), Region I is inhabited by Ilocano (66%), Pangasinan (27%) and Tagalog (3%). The remaining 1% constitutes for Bolinao and English speakers.
